Engineering notes
Air cooling done properly is a packaging problem: how much fin area fits over a motherboard without touching the RAM. The K310's front tower is cut away 14 mm at the base — full-height memory clears it on every board we could buy.
The fin stacks are soldered to the heatpipes, not press-fitted. It costs more and it is the only way the joint survives five years of heat cycles without degrading.
